We head northeast to New England to Cundy’s Harbor, Maine, a small community nestled among miles and miles of the Atlantic coastline. The sea is sprinkled with lobster boats, buoys and fisherman. Lobstering has passed from generation to generation and the same traditions and ideals are brought to us by the Hancock Gourmet Lobster Co.
The great people at Hancock Gourmet Lobster Co. are the geniuses behind some of my favorites at Dean & DeLuca where lobster is the star, including our Lobster Mac & Cheese, Lobster Stew and Wildberry Crisps. (Note: Wildberry Crisps do not include lobster, but they are the perfect way to conclude any lobster experience.) Everything is created in smaller batches allowing control over quality and taste. When I think of summer and the perfect meal nothing beats the Lobster Rolls.
The Lobster Rolls are created fresh daily. The sweet chunks of chilled, fresh lobster meat are lightly dressed with mayonnaise. We include two varieties that are packed separately. The first lobster salad features the crunch of celery and zest of lemon that complements the crisp, sea flavor of the lobster meat. The second salad is prepared with tarragon that enhances the earthy flavor giving a whole new meaning to land and sea. Still, I am unable to decide which is my favorite and luckily you don’t have to.
It doesn’t stop there because the Lobster Rolls would not be complete without the signature split-top rolls, which are included. Slightly buttered and toasted, they are the perfect vessel for you to place your lobster salad. Don’t believe me? Place an order and you decide!
