We’re excited to announce that we’re launching a new, philanthropic program called Shot of Charity™ at our SoHo espresso bar (560 Broadway, New York, NY 10012).

Starting June 21, 2010, you’ll be able to ask the cashier ringing up your café purchase to add a 25 cent “Shot of Charity™” or 50 cent “Double Shot of Charity™” to your order. 100% of the “shots” will be given to a featured charity that’ll rotate every few months. The first benefitting charity will be Apne Aap, an organization that works to empower the women and children of India’s red-light districts to escape human trafficking.

While the featured charity will rotate, it’ll always be a smaller, lesser-known organization, so the impact of your donations is maximized. If you order a hot beverage and make a “Shot of Charity™” contribution, we’ll present your drink wrapped in a special, orange Shot of Charity™ sleeve as a small ‘thank you.’

To be clear, we won’t actually add any espresso to your drink if you ask to add a Shot of Charity–so, you can donate with any drink or food purchase. Adding a Shot of Charity is just a simple way to make giving a part of your daily routine.

What a great idea, I’ll take part next time I am at the expresso bar. I was wondering if you match each donation?
